At WildFire CrossFit, we are proud to be able to offer CrossFit Kids & Teens programs to help our future generation get in amazing shape and learn that fitness is FUN! Coach Erin does an incredible job running the program and programming the classes along with help from Coaches Shannon, Brenda, and Christina.

Thanks to Dr. Chris Bonin, owner of Total Lifestyle Chiropractic, a few weeks ago, we started training the Pinnacle Pioneers Hockey Club who has won the Arizona State Championship the last 2 years.

One of the cool things about training kids is that there is no limit on their potential, and, for the most part, they trust their Coaches when they are told what to do, even if they have never done it before. When we tell them to do a box jump, they don’t evaluate the outcome, have concerns about getting injured, or complain about how difficult the exercise is. They just jump as high as they can, and they go for it.

As kids, we are open to new possibilities and the sky is the only limit of our potential. As we get older, our experiences tell us what we can and can’t do. In other words, we are controlled by the Belief Systems (or B.S.) we have developed since we were born.

As we get older, life experience tells us what we can and can’t do. That same B.S. that told us we were invulnerable now say’s things like: “Watch out”, “Be Careful”, and in some cases, “Settle for what you’ve got”.

When I was a kid, I jumped off the roof of our house with a bed sheet, thinking I would glide safely to the ground. While I didn’t break anything, that sh!t hurt, and the next day, I was back to climbing trees and taking risks.

Think about it. Have you ever seen someone hang a sign on their wall that reads: “Never take risks” or “Settle for less”?

Never, although I’ll bet you have seen a ton of signs that read: “Dream Big”, “Wish it, Dream it, Do it”, or “Live Life to its Fullest”.

The reason those signs exist is because, no matter how limiting our Belief Systems have become, most of us want more. The only question is, are we going to do what it takes to get there?

Think about the music you listen to or the movies you watch. I just heard the song in the gym “We Own it” by 2 Chaniz: “I never feared death or dying, I only feared never trying, I am whatever I am”.

We surround ourselves with this stuff because it elevates us to that place where we can open our Belief Systems to allow bigger hopes and dreams in, and then, life happens. Work gets busy, kids get sick, etc, and that Belief System shrinks back down to reality.

That’s why many of you come to WildFire CrossFit. Every day we get to surround ourselves with incredible people who challenge each other, dream big, and know that there is no limit to what we can achieve when persistence, hard work, and a positive attitude collide…especially in large numbers.

Yesterday, The CrossFit Total was a perfect example of the way the members of this community push each other and work together to do amazing things. When you put the weight on the bar, you set your Goal, and when you put every ounce of effort into completing the lift, you acted. Sprinkle in some confidence boosting cheers from your fellow Athletes and Coaches saying: “You can do it” and “You’ve got this” and viola, you have a new Personal Record, the Bell Rings, and everyone’s Belief System and what they are capable of doing is expanded.

So the next time you hit a wall, and start hearing those negative thoughts that say: “you can’t” or “you aren’t good enough” think back to when you were a kid, when the sky was the limit, and remember that with hard work, a positive attitude, and a Community behind you, you can accomplish anything.
